Thank you,

    For letting me love you,
once upon a time.
thanks for giving me love,
when you gave me the time.
Thanks for your promises
that you were mine;
all those promises
of gold
and silver shine.

    Thank you, my dear,
I will always remember
the lesson you taught,
that love can be sold,
and love can be bought.
It was a willing transaction,
the loaded words from your lips
for my trust and my heart.

Thank you for the dream you created for me.
You spun me a story,
like a master dream weaver.
"Together forever",
were the words that you told me.
"If we weren't together,
I swear it would kill me.
Love, I'll never leave you.
How could I ever hurt you?
It's just you and me
forever and ever."

    Thank you for teaching me
that I was so naïve,
and how love can make a fool out of me-
a truth that, before you,
I did not believe.

Thanks for letting me love you,
and wasting your time.
And thank God you were at least good for a rhyme.
sincerely mine.

Man, before writing anything coherent and much more needed for an author to know whether they truly succeded in their work or not, let me get this straight.

I. NEED. THIS. AS. A. SONG.

NOW.

TO SPOIL IT THOROUGHLY WITH MY CRAPPY SINGING. AND TEARS IN THE MIDDLE WHEN I THINK OF ALL THE UNHAPPY COUPLES I'VE ALREADY READ ABOUT. AND WILL. AND OF HEPHAESTION AMYNTOROS, AS ALWAYS WHEN IT COMES TO SAD LOVE SONGS.

God, I need to go to sleep but really. This is amazing and have to pull myself together and be in a brighter state of mind to write anything more coherent. Truly sorry for that, sincerely! The last line kills me, by the way. I'm on my knees thanks to it alone.
